Remove/install

Remove heat shield (2).

Engine 646 in model 909
with code MP5 (Engine version Euro 5)

 Installation: Only install heat shield (2) after the leak test.

Raise vehicle.

Remove lambda sensor electrical connector (B85/2x1) from bracket (1).

Expose electric line to lambda sensor (B85/2).

 Installation: Replace cable tie.

Release and disconnect lambda sensor electrical connector (B85/2x1).

Lower vehicle.

Remove lambda sensor (B85/2).

Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths

Install in the reverse order.



 Warning

Risk of burn injuries, suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust.

Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.

Perform engine test run and check leak tightness of exhaust system in area of lambda sensor (B85/2).
