| Remove/install | ||
1 | Clean area surrounding the charge air temperature sensor (1). | Assembly cleaner | |
2 | Release and disconnect the electrical connector (2). | ||
3 | Press catch hooks (arrows) together, remove charge air temperature sensor (1) from the charge air cooler (4) and remove upward. | ||
4 | Seal opening at charge air cooler (4) with suitable stop plug. | Record plug | |
5 | Check catch hooks and sealing ring (3) on the charge air temperature sensor (1) for damage. | If a new charge air temperature sensor (1) is not installed. | |
If damage is identified, | |||
| |||
install new charge air temperature sensor (1). | |||
6 | Install in the reverse order. | ||
| Check | ||
7 | Read out and delete fault memory. | ||

Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. | |
8 | Perform engine test run and check charge air cooler (4) in the area of the charge air temperature sensor (1) for leak tightness. |
