 Warning

Risk of burn injuries, suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust.

Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.

Remove/install

Remove bracket for diesel injection system control unit.

Remove cable duct (7).

Disconnect electrical connector (8).

Unclip electrical wiring harnesses (11, 12, 13, 14) (arrows) and expose.

Unclip bleed line (10) from mixer housing (1) and place to one side.

Remove exhaust gas temperature sensor (15) from the exhaust gas recirculation line (4).

Remove screws (5) and remove exhaust gas recirculation line (4) upward.

 Installation: Replace seal and sealing ring.

Remove coolant hose (9) from mixer housing (1) and place to one side.

Remove screws (2, 3).

 Screw/bolt, mixing chamber to charge air distributor

 Bolt, mixer housing to throttle valve actuator/charge air cooler

*BA09.41-D-1010-01TSM

Remove mixer housing (1) upward.

 Installation: Install new sealing ring between the mixer housing (1) and the throttle valve actuator (6). Install new sealing ring between the throttle valve actuator (6) and the charge air cooler. Install new sealing ring between the mixer housing (1) and the charge-air distributor.

Remove boost pressure sensor (16).

If mixer housing (1) is replaced.

Install in the reverse order.



 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run and check mixer housing (1) and exhaust gas recirculation line (4) for leak tightness.
