Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Remove/install

Drain coolant for auxiliary circuit.

 Installation: Only install cross strut and lower engine compartment lining after leak test.

Remove switchover valve (1).

Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts

 For this purpose, remove nuts (2).

Remove coolant hose line (3) from switchover valve (1).

 Collect escaping coolant.
Plug openings.

Remove coolant hose line (4) from switchover valve (1).

Remove coolant hose line (5) from switchover valve (1).

Remove the switchover valve (1).

 For this purpose, release and disconnect electrical connector (6).

Install in the reverse order.

Perform commissioning of switchover valve (1) with vehicle diagnosis system.

If switchover valve (1) is replaced.



Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory

Remove vehicle diagnosis system.

If switchover valve (1) is replaced.
