| Remove/install | ||
1 | Remove trim of right cylinder head cover. | ||
2 | Remove exhaust pipe to exhaust gas turbocharger. | ||
3 | Unclip bracket (2) at rail. | ||
4 | Disconnect electrical connector (3). | ||
5 | Expose electrical line (4). | Installation: Ensure electric line (4) is correctly routed. Protective hose (5) must be located in area of exhaust gas turbocharger. | |
6 | Remove temperature sensor (1). | ||
Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths | |||
Installation: Coat thread of temperature sensor (1) with heat-resistant lubricating paste. | |||

7 | Install in the reverse order. | ||
8 | Read out the fault memory using the diagnostic unit. | If temperature sensor (1) was replaced. | |
