Keep all ignition sources out of hazard area.
Do not carry out any work on system when it is pressurized.

Remove/install

Remove air filter housing.

Disconnect electrical connector from quantity control valve (1).



Clean

Clean fuel high-pressure pump in the area of the quantity control valve (1).

 Remove paint and dirt particles in the area of the quantity control valve (1).

Remove quantity control valve (1).


Pull quantity control valve (1) out of housing flange using turning movements and do not cant.
This prevents damage.

 To do this, remove screws (2).

 Collect escaping fuel and seal openings.

 Installation: Install new sealing rings. Lightly grease sealing rings.

Clean

Clean flanged bore and sealing surface on fuel high-pressure pump.


Remove paint and dirt particles.
To do this malfunctions and damages can be avoided.

Install in the reverse order



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Check for leaktightness when engine is running.
