2 | Remove exhaust gas recirculation cooling solenoid valve (Y27/16). | ||
3 | Unscrew screws (3) and remove mounting plate (2). | ||

5 | Release and disconnect electrical connector(7). | ||

7 | Remove driver and check toothing for wear and damage; replace if necessary. | WIS Service Media | |
8 | Check coupling flange on the high-pressure pump (1) for wear and damage; replace if necessary. | Only when high-pressure pump (1) is not replaced. | |

Make sure that drive plate is seated correctly. | |||

For this purpose, clean sealing surfaces, install new sealing ring, and grease slightly. | |||

11 | Connect and lock electrical connector (7). | ||
12 | Attach fuel lines (5, 6). | Replace clamps. | |

14 | Attach exhaust gas recirculation cooling solenoid valve (Y27/16). | ||
15 | Install pressure line between the high-pressure pump (1) and rail. | ||

Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. | |
