Remove/install

Remove glow plugs

Remove cylinder head (14)

Insert insertion plate (12) in assembly board (13)

 Observe direction arrows on the  insertion plate and the  assembly board.

Secure cylinder head (14) with screw/bolts (15) onto assembly board (13)

Put together assembly tool valves (11) and install on cylinder head (14)

Use valve assembly tool (11) to compress valve springs (3)

Remove valve keepers (1)

 Installation: Check valve keeper (1) for pittings and replace if required. Ensure that valve keepers (1) are seated correctly.

 Use tweezers or  magnetic pin (10).

Remove upper valve spring retainer (2) and valve spring (3)

 Installation: Fit protective sleeve (7) onto valve stem, lubricate valve stem seals (4) and press on with  drift (9)

Remove cylinder head (14) from assembly board (13) and remove valves (6)

 Installation: Perform a visual inspection of surface of valve stems for roughness and ridging and replace valves (6) if necessary.
