Remove/install

Remove upper engine cover.

 Installation: Do not install upper engine cover until after the leak test.

Press the noise damper on the CAMTRONIC exhaust actuator for cylinders 3 and 4 (Y49/23) to one side.

Release and disconnect electrical connector at CAMTRONIC exhaust actuator on cylinders 3 and 4 (Y49/23).

Remove CAMTRONIC exhaust actuator for cylinders 3 and 4 (Y49/23).

 Installation: Replace molded seal.
The CAMTRONIC exhaust actuator for cylinders 3 and 4 (Y49/23) can be installed in any engine position.

Check

Check both pins of cylinders 3 and 4 exhaust CAMTRONIC actuator (Y49/23) for retracted status.


Do not remove pins of cylinders 3 and 4 exhaust CAMTRONIC actuator (Y49/23).
Removing the pins damages the CAMTRONIC exhaust actuator for cylinders 3 and 4 (Y49/23).

If there are problems,



replace CAMTRONIC exhaust actuator for cylinders 3 and 4 (Y49/23).

Install in the reverse order.



Check

Check oil level of the engine and correct.



Read out and delete fault memory.



Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.
