Remove engine with transmission

Check basic position of camshafts

When checking the basic inspection, the TDC marking is set on the belt pulley (4) to the positioning edge on the timing case cover (arrow A). The crankshaft must not turned anymore.

Remove timing case cover

Installation: Before installing the cylinder head cover, check the basic position of the camshaft, adjust if necessary.

Take off timing chain

Remove upper bearing pin (2) with the puller

Installation: Screw bolt M6 into the upper bearing pin (2) and knock in the upper bearing pin (2) up to the stop in the cylinder head . Then unscrew the bolt M6 out of the upper bearing pin (2).

Remove the slide rail (1) from the lower bearing pin (3) and remove from below

Install in the reverse order
