Remove screw/bolts (2, 3)

Remove the end cover (1)

Remove pilot bushings (5)

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (4) from end cover (1)


Press out radial shaft sealing ring (4) with a suitable tool; use rags as a base in the process.
This avoids damage to the contact surfaces on the radial shaft sealing ring (4).



Clean

Clean contact surfaces of radial shaft sealing ring (4) and the end cover (1)

Install

Apply sealant to end cover (1)

Fit end cover (1)

Insert pilot bushings (5) from the outside into the end cover (1) and drive in with a drift

 Pilot bushings (5) must close off flush with the end cover (1).

Screw in screws (2, 3)

 Pay attention to different lengths of screws.



The engine oil level must not lie above the maximum marking.
Engine damage can occur otherwise.

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
