1 | Drive out straight pin (50) | ||
2 | Bore straight pin (50a) to dia. 5 mm | Uncover timing case (44); remove drill shavings from housing if necessary. | |
3 | Cut M6 thread | ||
4 | Remove straight pin (50a) using a puller | ||
5 | Cut off cylinder head gasket as close as possible to the joint edges (arrows) | Protect sealing surface from damage. e.g. using a saw blade or knife. Remove remaining sealant residue. | |
6 | Remove oil and grease from joint edges on cylinder head gasket | ||
7 | Lay sealant beads in the joint edges | ||
8 | Coat sealing surfaces at timing case cover (44) with sealant | ||
9 | Coat top side of sealing part (74a) with sealant | ||
10 | Install timing case cover (44) and sealing part (74a) together | The sealing part (74a) must be tough on both sides of the crankcase (1). | |
11 | Hammer in straight pin (50, 50a) | Use new straight pin (50a). | |
12 | Screw in mounting bolts (77, 49) | ||
13 | Tighten bolts (77, 49) | Note tightening sequence (7749). | |
