1 | Remove cylinder head cover | ||
2 | Push down brake pedal several times | To reduce any vacuum. | |
3 | Unlock brake booster vacuum line on vacuum pump (4) and detach upwards | ||
4 | Remove filler neck (7) with bracket | Installation: Replace the sealing ring of the filler neck (7). | |
5 | Remove bolts (9) | ||
6 | Support engine in the area of the oil pan using a suitable jack | Use a suitable support of wood or rubber to prevent damage to the oil pan. Ensure that the jack is securely positioned to prevent it from slipping. | |
7 | Unscrew nut (8) | | |
8 | Unscrew nuts (10) | | |
9 | Remove bracket (6) | ||
10 | Unscrew bolts (2) at front cover (1) | | |
11 | Detach front cover (1) out of guides on the cylinder head and remove together with Vacuum pump (4) from cylinder head | Installation: Clean sealing surfaces on front cover (1) and cylinder head. Replace sealing ring (5). | |

12.1 | Remove bolts (3) and vacuum pump (4) | Only when replacing the front cover (1). | |

14 | Conduct engine test run and check cylinder head in the area of the front cover (1) for leaks | ||
15 | Check engine oil level by means of oil dipstick | The engine oil level must lie between the markings "Min" and "Max" otherwise engine damage can result. |
