Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray.
Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

Open engine hood

Unscrew screw cap on expansion reservoir (1)

Turn in an anti-clockwise direction, release pressure, and then unscrew cooling system cap.

Remove vacuum reservoir

Loosen clamps (arrows) and remove cover (3)

Remove heating element for crankcase ventilation system (4) on intake air hose (5)

Clamp off coolant hose (6) using suitable hose clamp pliers

Remove clamps (8) and take coolant hoses (6, 7) off heating element for crankcase ventilation system (4)

Collect coolant which flows out in a suitable vessel.

Installation: Replace clamps (8).

Remove heating element for crankcase ventilation system (4) on oil separator (9)

Install in reverse order

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns when working in engine during starting procedure

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Conduct engine test run and check cooling system in the area of the heating element of the crankcase ventilation system (4) for leaks

Until the cooling fan is switched on.

Check coolant level, adjust to correct level if necessary.

Engine cooling system - inspect fluid level, adjust to correct level. Inspect anticorrosion/ antifreeze protection, adjust to correct concentration
