1 | Detach charge air distribution pipe (12) at cylinder head and place to the side with engine wiring harness connected | The engine wiring harness does not need to be separated on the vehicle side | |
2 | Remove trim panel of cylinder head cover | ||
3 | Remove injection lines | ||
4 | Remove injectors (1) | ||
5 | Detach crankcase ventilation line (2) | ||
6 | Unplug connector (3) at camshaft position sensor | ||
7 | Unplug connectors (10) at the glow plugs | ||
8 | Unscrew bolt (4) and remove ground line (arrow). | ||
9 | Unclip cable duct with engine wiring harness (5) at the cylinder head cover (7) and at rail and place to the side | ||
10 | Detach outlet line (6) | ||
11 | Take off cylinder head cover (7) | If cylinder head cover (7) is replaced: | |
Fit existing crankcase ventilation, camshaft position sensor and bracket. | |||
| Install | ||
12 | Fit on cylinder head cover (7) | Do not tighten screws of cylinder head cover (7), because the injectors (1) are aligned via the cylinder head cover (7). Otherwise gas leakages of the injectors (1) can occur in the cylinder head as well as impermissible stresses in the injection lines. Check gaskets (8, 9) of cylinder head cover (7), replace if necessary. | |

14 | Tighten bolts (11) of cylinder head cover (7) | | |
15 | Plug in connectors (10) at the glow plugs | ||
16 | Mount cable duct with engine wiring harness (5) onto cylinder head cover (7) | ||
17 | Screw down ground line (arrow) with screw (4) | ||
18 | Plug in connector (3) at camshaft position sensor | ||
19 | Fit on return flow line (6) | ||
20 | Fit on crankcase ventilation line (2) | ||
21 | Install injection lines | Counterhold the injectors (1) with wrench at threaded union (arrow). | |
22 | Install trim panel of cylinder head cover | ||
23 | Fit charge air distribution pipe (12) onto cylinder head | ||
Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns when working in engine during starting procedure | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving. | |
24 | Inspect for oil leaks | Run engine until warm, switch off and inspect for leaks. |
