| Remove | ||
1 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (at least 2 m). | ||
2 | Remove fuel injectors. | ||
| Check | ||
3 | Turn engine at the center bolt of the vibration damper in the direction of engine rotation until the piston of the cylinder to be checked is at bottom dead center (BDC). | ||
4 | Connect endoscope (1). | ||

5 | Insert flexible test probe (2) of the endoscope (1) through the bore of the removed fuel injector into the cylinder and den inspect cylinder with light probe. | ||
6 | Check cylinder barrel. | ||
General information on inspecting cylinder walls | |||
If the cylinder barrel is become very rough or the honing marks are no longer visible, | |||

remove left and right cylinder head and determine cause. | |||
Remove/install left cylinder head | |||
Remove/install right cylinder head | |||
7 | Check remaining cylinders in same manner. | ||
| Install | ||
8 | Install fuel injectors. |
