Operational notes
The radio frequency locking system with integrated immobilizer consists of the electronic control system in the vehicle and the hinged vehicle key with integrated transmitter. The central locking system and the immobilizer are operated by remote control by the radio frequency locking system. If the vehicle is fitted with a standard anti-theft alarm system, this is also activated/deactivated using the radio frequency locking system.
When the hinged key is closed, this is interpreted as a parked vehicle and the "lock vehicle" command is transmitted. The vehicle is then locked by the central locking system or the convenience locking system, the immobilizer is activated and the anti-theft alarm system will be activated, if present.
When the hinged key is opened again, this is interpreted as a start command, and the vehicle is centrally unlocked, the immobilizer is deactivated and the anti-theft alarm is switched off again, if present.
When the hinged key is opened or closed, the transmitter key sends a message. The control module (receiver) checks this message and performs the required functions if the message is valid.
Communication between transmitter key and control module (receiver)
The transmitter key messages transmitted in encrypted format. The messages are decoded in the control module and compared to a specified value.
The control module accepts a message as being valid if the transmitter key message and the specified value calculated by the control module are "synchronous".
The coding of the message changes each time the transmitter key is operated. This means that previous messages are invalidated and the radio-transmitted messages cannot be "tapped".
