The Crosswind Assist system can be retrofitted through Retrofit for vehicles as of model year 01/2012 subject to a charge.
There are some non-programmable processors in the instrument cluster of the vehicles.
These must be excluded from the retrofit and can be determined in VeDoc under the category "Control units" in the column "Hardware-object no." in row "Instrument cluster".

Activation of the SA code JA8 can be ordered citing the VIN (vehicle identification number) through the parts ordering process using part number A 000 827 14 00.
For this retrofit a ticket does not need to be created in "XENTRY Support (XSF)".
Please note that only complete transactions can be processed i.e. a parts order with specification of the entire VIN.
Please observe the following for the retrofit:
ESP® control units and the instrument cluster must be flashed and coded.
The latest flashware release must always be used.
Before ordering, the ESP® control unit should be flashed to the latest software.
The entry of code JA8 in the vehicle data card (VeDoc) takes place in GLC generally on the day the order is made, at the latest on the following day.
Before coding the control units, make sure that the code JA8 has been entered in the vehicle data card (VeDoc) by the GLC.
