Remove/install

Discharge air conditioning system.

Remove noise damper in front of charge air cooler.

Release poly-V-belt (1) and remove from belt pulley (3) of refrigerant compressor (2).

Remove left front wheel.

Remove left fender liner.

Disconnect electrical connection (4).

Remove screw (5).

 Bolt, refrigerant line to refrigerant compressor

Remove low-pressure line(6) from refrigerant compressor(2) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs.



Compressor oils (specification 362.1)

 Installation: Replace sealing ring of low-pressure line (6) and moisten with compressor oil.

Unscrew bolt (7).

 Bolt, refrigerant line to refrigerant compressor

Remove high-pressure line (8) from refrigerant compressor (2) and seal openings using suitable stop plugs.



Compressor oils (specification 362.1)

 Installation: Replace sealing ring of high-pressure line (8) and moisten with compressor oil.

Remove the front engine compartment paneling.

Risk of injury to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing engine oil

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

Remove oil line (9) from engine oil cooler (10) and seal openings using suitable stop plugs.

 Collect escaping engine oil in a suitable container.

 Installation: Replace O-ring.

Remove bolt (11) and place coolant pipe (12) with attached coolant lines to one side.

 Screw/bolt, A/C compressor to oil pan

Remove bolts (13) and remove refrigerant compressor (2) towards front.


Carefully remove refrigerant compressor (2).
Otherwise, surrounding component parts or the refrigerant compressor (2) may be damaged.

Install in the reverse order.

Initial startup

Commission refrigerant compressor (2) using vehicle diagnosis system.

If the refrigerant compressor (2) was replaced.



Check engine oil level.


The engine oil level must not lie above the maximum marking.
Otherwise engine damage may occur.

If there is a problem,



Correct engine oil level.

Perform engine test run, check air conditioning system for proper operation and leak tightness while doing so.
