Remove/Install

Open sliding/pop-up roof panel

Remove paneling from right (2) and left (3) A-pillar

Remove paneling on C-pillar

Disconnect electrical connectors (11) from headliner on bottom right in area of C-pillar

Remove rear dome lamp PTS warning display

 First pull left side out of headliner (1)

Remove infrared interior monitoring transmitter/receiver

On vehicles with code (882b) Infrared interior monitoring (only with ATA)

Remove right rear (4) and left rear (5) coat hanger hooks

 Remove cover.

Remove right (6) and left (7) handle

Remove right (8) and left (9) sun visor

Unclip front interior lighting

Remove overhead control panel control module

Remove inside rearview mirror

Disconnect rain sensor connector

Remove rail (13) from sliding roof cutout upward (arrows)

Loosen headliner (1) in rear area from Velcro strips (12)

Unhook headliner (1) in rear area of clips (10)

 Thereby slightly push headliner (1) toward front.

Completely move both seats toward front and lay down backrests

Slightly pull headliner (1) down in area of windshield

Press headliner (1) with mounting rail (14) toward front (arrows) out of sliding/pop-up roof frame guide (15)

Lower both side windows on one side of vehicle

Remove headliner (1) from vehicle

Prepare headliner (1) for installation.

Only when replacing headliner (1).
