Remove/install

Detach complete wheels at rear axle

Unhook brake cable (7)

Remove rear rpm sensor (18) with plug bushings (19) from bearing cap

with code BB0 (Brake system with ABS and ASR)

 Installation: Observe reference document for assembly of rear rpm sensor (18).

Remove brake disk (10) from the rear axle

Remove parking brake brake shoes (2)

Remove brake cable lock (6)

AR42.20-D-0530-01FA

Unscrew screws/bolts (9) and pull out rear axle shaft (14) from axle tube of rear axle (1)

 Installation: Replace screws/bolts (9).
Tighten screws/bolts (9) in crosswise pattern.

 Bolt, rear axle shaft with bearing cap to axle tube

Remove sealing ring (15)

 Installation: Replace sealing ring (15).

Install in the reverse order

Check oil level in rear axle differential and correct, if necessary


