Risk of accident when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work.

Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.

Remove/install

Remove brake linings

Remove bolts (1) and remove brake caliper support (2)

 Installation: Replace screws/bolts (1).

 Bolt, brake caliper support to rear axle tube

Apply parking brake

Remove screw (4)

 Installation: Replace screw (4).

 Fit two wheel studs and counterhold the brake disk (3) using an assembly lever if necessary.

 Bolt, brake disk to rear axle shaft/wheel hub

Release parking brake and increase clearance of brake shoes of parking brake

 Slacken adjusting wheel of brake shoe adjuster.

Slacken clamp screw on eccentric disk for pressure transformer unit of brake cables

Remove brake disk (3)

Check brake disk (3) for damage and wear, and replace if necessary

Adjust parking brake
