 Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove/install

Drain off coolant.

Remove belt pulley/vibration damper.

Remove the coolant temperature sensor (2).

Remove the screws (6) and remove the coolant line (5).

Remove the coolant hose (7) from the coolant line (4).

 Collect escaping coolant in a suitable container.

Seal the opening on the coolant hose (7) and coolant line (4) with protective covers.

Remove screw (4.1).

 The screw (4.1) is fixed with a screw locking device on the coolant line (4).

Remove the coolant line (4) from the coolant thermostat (1).

 Collect escaping coolant in a suitable container.

Seal the opening on the coolant line (4) and coolant thermostat (1) with protective covers.

Remove the connection fitting (3) from the coolant thermostat (1).

Seal the openings on the connection fitting (3) and coolant thermostat (1) with protective covers.

Remove the screw (8) at the top of the cable duct (9).

Unclip the cable duct (9) on the retaining clips (arrows) and put down.

Disconnect the electrical connection (1) on the coolant thermostat.

Remove screws (10 to 14).

 Installation: Tighten the screws (10 to 14) in numerical sequence.

 Screw, coolant thermostat to coolant pump

Remove coolant thermostat (1).

 Collect escaping coolant in a suitable container.

 Installation: Replace seal.



Clean

Clean sealing surfaces with a lint-free rag.

Install in the reverse order.
