Do not fill the oil pump with oil, only coat with oil

Remove/Install

 Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove oil pan

Unscrew bolts (3) and remove cover (1) from oil pump (2)



Unscrew bolt (6) and remove drive gear (4) from Lanchester balance shaft (5)

 Unscrew the bolt (6) of the drive gear (4) at the Lanchester balance shaft (5) and remove the drive gear (4), in doing so, press the Lanchester balance shaft (5) towards the flywheel.



Dismount oil pump (2) from Lanchester differential cage, to do so unscrew the bolts (7)

 One of the bolts (7) is positioned under the oil pump gear (8). To unbolt the bolt, turn the oil pump gear (8) until the bolt is accessible.



Slacken oil pump (2) and take out

 Installation: Coat the oil pump (2) with oil to prevent engine damage.

 Installation: Clean separating surfaces at Lanchester differential cage and oil pump (2).

Remove transfer tube (9) between oil pump (2) and crankcase

Unscrew bolts 11) and remove oil suction pipe (10) from Lanchester differential cage



Remove oil strainer

 Installation: Clean oil strainer, in order to avoid a damage of the oil pump (2).
