Warning | Risk of injury. Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. | Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.
Danger | Risk of death when working on component parts and systems with U >= 30 V alternating voltage (AC) or U >= 60 V direct voltage (DC) | Do not touch damaged or defective live component parts and lines or non-insulated electrical connections and lines.
Topical note | Notes on avoiding damage to ignition system
| Remove/install | ||
1 | Open engine hood and raise to vertical position
2 | Remove engine cover (1) vertically toward top | Installation: When placing the engine cover (1), ensure that the seal is correctly seated at the oil filler neck. The seal should not be pressed down by the engine cover (1), but must lie against the engine cover (1).
3 | Disconnect the electrical connections of the ignition coils of cylinders 1 to 4 (T1 1 to T14)
4 | Remove the screw/bolts (2) of the ignition coils for cylinders 1 to 4 (T1 1 up to T14) | Ignition coil to cylinder head cover
5 | Pull the ignition coils of cylinders 1 to 4 (T1 1 up to T14) with the spark plug connector (a) in the upward direction and remove them | Installation:
Installation: Discharge approx. Fill 1 g of spark plug connector grease into the spark plug connector.
