 Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Remove charge air hose downstream of charge air cooler (3) from engine charge air duct

 Ensure that dirt particles to not fall into charge air system to prevent engine damage.

 Installation: In order to avoid leaks on engine check sealing rings and detent springs for damage, thoroughly clean connecting points but do not grease, as well as observe exact seating of detent springs.

Remove bottom engine compartment paneling

Remove charge air hose downstream of charge air cooler (3) from charge air cooler (2)

 Ensure that dirt particles to not fall into charge air system to prevent engine damage.

Open and close coupling

 Installation: On engine 642.9 observe installation position of clamp (4). Check clamp (4), replace if necessary.

Install in the reverse order



Checking

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it moving off. Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
