Remove/install

Lift/jack up vehicle

Disconnect electrical connector (7) at charge air temperature sensor (B17/9)

Detach charge air hose (2) at throttle valve actuator (M16/40)

With engine 646.984/985/986

3.2

Open coupling and remove charge air hose (3) on charge air pipe (1)

On engine 646.989/990

Disconnect electrical connector (6) at boost pressure sensor (B5/1)

Detach cap (8) and disconnect electrical connector (5) on throttle flap positioner (M16/40)

With engine 646.984/985/986

Remove bolts (9) for charge air pipe (1) on oil pan (4)



Remove charge air pipe (1)

 Installation: Check sealing ring and replace if necessary.

Detach throttle valve actuator (M16/40) at charge air pipe (1)

For engine 646.984/985/986 if the charge air pipe (1) is replaced.

Remove boost pressure sensor (B5/1) on charge air pipe (1)

 Only if the charge air pipe (1) is replaced.

 Installation: Check sealing ring; replace boost pressure sensor (B5/1) if necessary.



Pull out charge air temperature sensor (B17/9) on charge air pipe (1)

 Only if the charge air pipe (1) is replaced.

 Installation: Check sealing ring; replace charge air temperature sensor (B17/9) if necessary.

Install in the reverse order
