Remove/install

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Crank engine at crankshaft in direction of rotation until piston on first cylinder is positioned at TDC

 The TDC marking on belt pulley/ vibration damper must be aligned with positioning edge on timing case cover.

Remove poly-V belt

Remove alternator

Remove plug (1)

 Lift plug (1) with screwdriver out of the timing case cover (2).

 Installation: Insert plug (1) with drift into the timing case cover (2).



Remove chain tensioner (3) from timing case cover (2)


