Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Remove left rear axle shaft (5) and right rear axle shaft (4)

 Installation: Replace circlips (2) on both shafts.

Detach propeller shaft (6) from flange on rear axle center assembly (1)

Support rear axle center assembly (1) using transmission jack and transmission platform and secure on transmission platform

Undo rear axle center assembly (1) at front fastening shackle



Undo rear axle center assembly (1) on both rear fastening shackles

Lower the differential (1) slightly

Remove bleed screw (3) on rear axle center assembly (1)

Lower the rear axle center assembly (1) completely

Install in the reverse order



Checking

Check the oil level in the rear axle center assembly (1) and correct if necessary

 If a new rear axle center assembly (1) has been installed or in the event of oil loss following a repair or if oil has run out during removal.

 The rear axle center assembly (1) is filled correctly when the oil in the rear axle center assembly (1) which is installed reaches up to the bottom edge of the filler opening at room temperature.

 Replace sealing ring of oil filler screw.


