Removing

Remove propeller shaft on reversing gear

Release and unscrew collar nut (1)



Remove flange (2, 3)

Use puller if difficult to move



Remove cover (6)

 Screw two bolts into cover (arrow) and press-in cover

Remove radial sealing ring (4) from cover (6)

 Do not damage seat surface of radial sealing ring



Install

Install radial sealing ring (4) into cover (6)

 Pack space on rear of sealing lip with grease

 Coat circumference of radial seals without rubberized external surface with sealant.

Attach cover (6)

 Coat sealing surface with sealant

Fit flange (2, 3) up to stop

 In event of sluggishness heat flange up to approx. 90 °C using a heat gun

Screw on collar nut (1)

 Secure collared nut
