Remove trim panel of cylinder head cover

Disconnect electrical connectors (1) for cylinder 1 to 4 glow plugs (R9/1, R9/2, R9/3, R9/4)

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Remove cylinder 1 to 4 glow plugs (R9/1, R9/2, R9/3, R9/4)

 If loosening torque is greater than
25 Nm (reference value), warm up engine to normal operating temperature; otherwise the cylinder 1 to 4 glow plugs (R9/1, R9/2, R9/3, R9/4) can break off.

Clean glow plug recess

Cylinder brush, Perlon, 6 mm dia.

Cylindrical brush, Perlon, 10 mm dia.
