Check

1

Check if the notch of indicator disc (1) matches with the mark on camshaft (2)

2

Check the position of the camshaft on the indicator disc (1)

With the brake linings wear and the consequent brake shoe adjustment, the indicator disc (1) displaces in the rotation direction of the camshaft.

The camshaft reaches its maximum operating travel when the pointer of the indicator disc (4) touches/gets aligned with the reference on the adjuster housing (3)

3

If necessary, replace the brake linings

When the maximum work travel of the protruding shaft is reached, then this will be an indication that the lining thickness is approaching its wear-down limit, therefore requiring replacement even not yet having reached its minimum thickness.
