46.15-010 Removing and installing valve
1 Screw cap | 40 to 50 Nm. |

Removing
------------------------------
1 Unscrew screw cap (1).
2 Take off O-ring (3).
3 Remove valve plug (2) from screw cap (1).
4 Take out spring (4) and valve (5).
5 Check valve (5) for scoring, wear and jamming in the pump housing bore.
Note
If scoring is detected on the contact surface of the bore, the entire power steering pump assembly must be replaced. Never replace just the valve (5).
Installing
------------------------------
1 Immerse valve (5) and spring (4) in ATF and install.
2 Install valve plug (2) in screw cap (1).
Note
The slot in the valve plug (2) must point towards the spring.
3 Tighten screw cap (1) with new O-ring (3) to 40 to 50 Nm.
4 Check power steering pump (46.13-010).
