Checking
1 Examine flywheel for signs of cracks and scoring; replace if necessary.
2 Use a knife-edge straightedge to check the flatness of the clutch face.
3 Examine contact face and threaded holes for mounting the clutch pressure plate.
Machining
Note
Before machining the flywheel, determine whether stock removal is still possible.
1 If stock is removed, the dimension "C", minimum clearance between friction surface and mounting face of the flywheel, must be maintained.
Note
The peak-to-valley height of the friction surface is 15 mm. If the peak-to-valley height is greater, this will increase the wear of the clutch lining while insufficient peak-to-valley height will cause clutch separation problems.
