 Warning

Risk of burn injuries and scalding when working at AdBlue lines and the components attached to them. Risk of injury to skin and eyes when handling AdBlue. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing AdBlue

Pour AdBlue into suitable containers only. Wait until the pressure is released before starting any work on the exhaust aftertreatment system.

Open the maintenance cover

 Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Open the expansion tank cap and release the pressure in the coolant lines

Remove the coolant pipes (4) with the clamps and detach the supports

 Installation: Replace the cable ties that were removed.

Remove the AdBlue overflow line (3) and the AdBlue return line (2) from the piping connection

 Installation: Replace the cable ties that were removed.

Disconnect the electric connector (5) and remove the electric cable from the chassis frame

 Installation: Replace the cable ties that were removed.

Position the claw wrench (8) in the openings (9) in the closing ring (6)

 Only in case of variant with closing ring (A).

Position the lever (7) in the claw wrench (8), and turn the closing ring (6) counterclockwise, until reaching the position "open" (I)

 Installation: Turn the closing ring (6) clockwise, until the left detent notches (11) leans in the slot of the closing claws (10).

 Only in case of the variant with closing ring (A). For this, it is necessary to apply a great force. The closing ring (6) engages and disengages abruptly. Do not use any extension between the lever (7) and the claw wrench (8).

Separate the screwed connection in the filling level sensor/temperature sensor of AdBlue (B74)

Remove the filling level sensor/temperature sensor of AdBlue (B74)


Always use the prescribed grease as a sliding product. Furthermore, pay attention to the lubricant is used only in the minimum necessary amount.
Otherwise, this can cause damages in the exhaust gas after-treatment system.

Clean the seat surface of the O-ring (12) with a cleaned cloth and water, and replace the O-ring (12).



Before installing, grease the O-Ring (12) with a thin layer of grease.

Install in reverse order

Check the AdBlue return line (2) and the AdBlue overflow line (3) for leak-tightness in the area of piping connections

 Only visual inspection.

Check the coolant pipings (4) for leak-tightness in the area of pipings connections

 Only visual inspection.

Close the maintenance cover
