| Remove | ||
1 | Place vehicle on a flat and leveled place that provides security and shim rear wheels to avoid it from moving accidentally
2 | Disconnect negative battery cable or turn off main switch
3 | Place stick shift on neutral position
4 | Remove central console between driver and passenger seats to facilitate access to stick shift
5 | Remove elastic rings (4.1) that fixate the terminal spheres (4) of the selection (1) and engaging (2) cables | In case it necessary to remove the articulation part (15), remove the elastic rings similar to those of the cable terminals.
6 | Remove both holding locks (8.1) and release cables (1) and (2) from selection (4.2) and engaging (4.3) levers | both in case of reusing cables or working with new cables, they must not be bended or excessively forced.
Attention! | Risk of injure by trapping and crushing when tilting the cabin | During back and forth cab tilting, stay away from tilting area and take preventive measures to avoid non-authorized people from entering tilting area. Always tilt the cab to its final position and secure it with the safety device.
7 | Tilt the cab | ||
8 | Release cable protections (9) in the cabin
9 | Release the double clamps that hold cables in place to the gearbox and cut the plastic clamps that hold the cables | The double parallel metal clamps that hold both cables are held with screws to the holders on the left stringer.
10 | Gearbox selection cable (1): release the nut (18) on the gear selection lever (19), remove the lock (8.1)
11 | Engaging cable: (2) remove on engaging lever (21) the external hexagonal nut (20) and the holding lock (8.1) | In this situation both (1) selection and (2) engaging cables are released from the stick shift in cabin.
12 | Remove the cables out of the vehicle | The cables will be assembled with the folding protections on both ends. The new engaging and selection cables will be furnished complete and in pairs.
| Adjust new cables | ||
13 | Place new cables stretched on a clean counter in the installation position and check the measures. Make adjustments if necessary | Measures “A“ and “A.1“ of both selection and engaging cables serve as a reference of total length, however it is very important that measures “D“ of the screw penetration on all four terminals are distributed equally.
Total length “A”. Selection cable.
Total length “A.1”. Engaging cable
Total length “D” on both cables.
14 | Adjust measure “B” and “B.1” on the cabin end | Total length “B”. Selection cable.
Total length “B.1”. Engaging cable
After adjustment, tighten nuts (5) with specified torque.
| |||
15 | The coif must be introduced ans loosen (with no clamps) on cables extremities before starting the adjustment | Coif replacement: The protection coifs (12) with plastic clamps can be replaced when necessary.
16 | Adjust gearbox side end with measures “C“ and “C.1“ | Total length “C”. Selection cable.
Total length “C.1”. Engaging cable
After adjustment, tighten nuts (5) with specified torque (on the picture they are covered by the protection coifs (12))
| |||
| Install | ||
17 | Introduce the cables left end by the cabin orifice and fixate protection (9) to the wall. Stretch the cables normally up to the stick shift | Here, the cables must be normally stretched with no effort and totally free from the double clamps.
18 | Fit cables (1) and (2) into the respective holders in the support with no locks. Fit the cables spherical joints onto the selection (4.2) and engaging (4.3) levers and install the new plastic rings (4.1) that fixate the terminal spherical joints. Finally install the locks (8.1) | Stick shift must be on neutral position. Here the cables are assembled to the stick shift and to the cabin wall.
19 | Fit cables (1) and (2) into the respective holders in the stick shift support (8.2) with no locks. Fit the terminals to the selection (19) and engaging (21) levers in the stick shift | Stick shift must be on neutral position.
install and tighten the self lock nut with flange (18) with the specified torque.
| |||
Install and tighten the external hexagonal nut and spherical joints (20).
| |||
20 | install the locks (8.1) onto the stick shift holder (8.2) | Here the activation cables are assembles to the stick shift. The protection coifs remain loose to allow cable adjustment.
The cable ends starting from the holding supports (8.2) cannot be bended, or moved in a higher angle to the allowed.
Maximum cable displacement from fixation support.
21 | Fixate activation cables with double clamps into the respective holders | The clamps must be tightened enough so that the cable is not deformed or forced.
22 | Tilt cabin to normal position and verify the functioning of the set as to gear selection and engaging | Pay attention to gear engaging. If necessary, correct the adjustments.
If it is necessary to correct the adjustment of the counterweight command lever, observe respective values.
Total lever length “E“.
Regulation nuts tightening.
23 | Install central console between driver and passenger seats
24 | Settle protection coifs (12) in cables and place new plastic clamps (11) | The clamps must be installed normally, not being bended or forced. |
