Warning | Risk of injury caused by body parts being pinched or crushed as cab is tilted | Ensure that no one is within the tilting range of the cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt the cab all the way to the end position and secure it with the safety strut.
1 | Turn off ignition | ||
2 | Tilt the cabin | ||
Topical note | Notes on tilting the cab
Installation: return the cab to its original position only after the leak test.
3 | Drain the coolant from the cooler |
| |
4 | Remove the acoustic encapsulation from the chassis on the upper right side
5 | Remove the air intake hose (4) | Installation: Install the air suction hose (4) only after filling the oil circuit of the engine.
6 | Unscrew and remove the oil filter cap (1) | When unscrewing the oil filter cap (1), the motor oil flows back into the sump.
Installation: Replace the O-Ring (2) and check the oil filter element (3) for damage and accumulated contaminants. If necessary, replace the oil filter element (3).
.Oil filter cover to filter body
7 | Remove the oil return line (11) | Close the oil pressure holes.
Installation: Replace sealing rings.
.Oil return tube bolt to turbocharger
8 | Remove the drive conductor (control capsule) (10) from the exhaust gas-based turbocharger (9)
9.1 | Disconnect the electrical connector (8) from the combined oil pressure and temperature sensor (B110) | Until the final engine No. 301561
9.2 | Disconnect the electrical wires (12) from the engine oil temperature sensor (B11) and the oil pressure sensor (B12) | From engine final number 301562
10 | Remove the cap (5) with the oil/water heat exchanger (7) from the block | The oil/water heat exchanger (7) should be replaced in case of external damage and perceptible material abrasion in the engine oil.
Installation: Clean the sealing surfaces and replace the seals.
.Heat exchanger to the block
11 | Remove the oil/water heat exchanger (7) from the cap (5) | Installation: Clean the sealing surfaces and replace the seal (6).
.Exchanger cover to the exchanger
12 | Remove the cap closing screws (5) | Only in case of leakage of the closing screws, respectively when replacing the cap (5).
Installation: Replace sealing rings.
.Plug to the heat exchanger
13 | Remove the engine oil temperature sensor (B11) from the cap (5) | Installation: Replace sealing rings.
.Engine oil temperature sensor in the heat exchanger
14 | Install in reverse order
Warning | Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
15 | Refill the engine oil circuit |
