2 | Remove the head cover | ||
3 | Remove injection tubing | Injection tubing must not be twisted; its inner lining may detach and damage the engine. | |
4 | Remove pressure bolt (1) and disassemble pressure tube neck (2) | ||
5 | Remove tension bow (5) | ||
6 | Mount threaded insert with percussion extractor on combined injector holder (6) (arrow) | | |

7 | Withdraw combined injector holder (6) with the percussion extractor | The combined injector holder (6) must not be removed. | |

8 | Remove threaded insert with percussion extractor from combined injector holder (6) | | |

9 | Withdraw sealing ring (8) from combined injector holder (6) | Only when reinstalling a used combined injector holder (6). | |
10 | Withdraw seal bushings (8) from cylinder head | Only with seal bushings (8) stuck in cylinder head. | |

11 | Clean combustion remainders from combined injector holder (6) and make a visual inspection | Only when reinstalling a used combined injector holder (6). Clean the contact surface for sealing sleeve (8) with a brass brush. | |
12.1 | Clean combined injector holder (6) with ultrasonic injector cleaning equipment | For Euro 2 version engines and in case of complaints of bad engine performance. | |
In case of unsuccessful cleaning: Replace combined injector holder (6). | |||
12.2 | Replace combined injector holder (6) | Engines as from Euro 3 version | |
| Installation: | ||
13 | Measure shaft length (L) of screw (4) | If different from max. shaft length (L), replace screw (4). | |
14 | Press new sealing sleeve (8) with mounting tool (10.1, 10.2) into combined injector holder (6) | Only when reinstalling a used combined injector holder (6). | |

15 | Mount new O-ring (7) on combined injector holder (6) | Only when reinstalling a used combined injector holder (6). | |
16 | Cautiously apply hot bearing grease to O-ring (7) | ||
17 | Position new O-ring (3) on pressure tube connection (2) | Apply a slight amount of heat resistant bearing grease to O-ring (3) and to pressure tube connection (2) and use engine oil to moisten the sealing cone area. | |
18 | Install combined injector holder (6) and position tension bow (5) | Assure correct mounting position of combined injector holder (6) in relation to pressure tube connection opening. | |
19 | Insert pressure tube connection (2) into the cylinder head until it locks into the fuel orifice of combined injector holder (6) | If necessary, rotate combined injector holder (6) with tension bow (5) in the cylinder head. | |
20 | Fasten tension bow (5) with screw (4) | | |
21 | Fasten pressure tube connection (2) with pressure screw (1) | | |
22 | Mount the injection pipe | Injection tubing must not be twisted; its inner lining may detach and damage the engine. | |
23 | Install cylinder head cover | ||
24 | Install air intake collector |
