 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not pour transmission oil into beverage bottles.

Remove

1

Place the transmission on neutral position and turn off the vehicle

Clean the drain plug proximities (3) and the filter cover (5)

 When changing oil, be careful to prevent dirty ingress in the automatic gearbox.

 During this procedure, automatic transmission temperature should be normal operation (80 - 95 °C).

Remove the drain plug (3) and drain completely the transmission oil



Check

Check the drained oil for water contamination

If there are signs of water:



Check the heat exchanger of the automatic transmission regarding the inner leaks.

Check the drained oil for metal particles

If there are signs of metal particles:



The automatic gearbox has been damaged and should be removed for evaluation and repair.

Remove the bolts (4), the filter cover (5), and the filter (6)

Remove the suction pipe (8) of the filter (6)



Install

Install the suction pipe (8) and a new sealing ring (9)

Install a new filter (6) with a new sealing ring (7)

Install the filter cap (5) and the bolts (4)

 Use a new gasket on the filter cover (5).

Install the drain plug (3)

Remove the dipstick (1) and fill the automatic gearbox

Introduce the dipstick (1)

Start the engine

 Keep the engine rotations at idle speed.

Check oil level

 In the level check observe the perfect settlement of the dipstick (1) on its housing.
