Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Turn off the disconnect switch or disconnect the ground line

Remove the ground line screw on the chassis, avoid detaching it at the battery clamps.

Double belts must always be replaced together.

Remove compressor (5) or oil pump (5a) belts (4)

Retension V-belt

Loosen the screw nut (2) and turn the nut (3) clockwise, enabling the removal of the belts.

Install the new belts correctly and turn the nut (3) counterclockwise until obtaining the specified tension, with the help of the device or applying pressure with your thumb, perpendicularly on the top side of the belt between the pulleys until obtaining the deflection, then, tighten the screw nut (2).
- Tension obtained with the measuring device and deflection of the belt between the pulleys, when pressed down with the thumb.

After installing and stretching a belt, make sure that the rubber support of the stretcher does not get twisted

Remove the alternator (8) belts (4a).

The procedure is the same as in the previous item, loosening more the screw nut (6), which must be tightened to the specified torque when assembling.
