Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Fill fuel low-pressure circuit on engine with hand pump

Remove handle (2) from the manual delivery pump (1) on fuel filter module (3).

Actuate manual delivery pump (1) on handle (2) with about 100 rapid pump strokes of about 1 minute until a noticeable pressure is present at the manual delivery pump (1).

Start engine within about 5 s at the engine start and engine stop button, allow to run in idle, then subsequently allow engine to run at higher engine speeds.


If the engine does not start or does not achieve an increased motor rpm, repeat operation step 2.

Switch off engine.

Screw handle (2) hand-tight into the manual delivery pump (1).
