7 | Remove lock ring (12) and roller bearing inner race (11)
| Check | ||
8 | Check the components for damage and wear | Replace the worn out or damaged parts. Use gear oil to thoroughly lubricate all sliding surfaces on the components.
Each crown/pinion set includes an electrically engraved number on the front face of the pinion and the oblique face of the crown. Both parts (crown and pinion) should have the same number engraved.
| Assemble | ||
9 | Install the inner race of inner tapered roller bearing (9) with a suitable tool | Pre-heat the inner race of the bearing to 80 °C.
Note that the bearing widths are different. The inner bearing width is greater than the inner bearing width.
10 | Install spacer washer (8) and both tapered roller bearing outer races (6) and (9)
11 | Install the inner race of the outer tapered roller bearing (6) using an appropriate sleeve | Pre-heat the inner race of the bearing to 80 °C.
12 | Install the thrust ring (5)
13 | Using a press, insert new sealing rings (3) in threaded ring (4) | Apply a sealing agent to the external surface of the sealing rings.
