Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Switch off ignition/starter switch

Withdraw ignition key.

Remove wheel trim

Remove bolts (8)

Pull out rear axle shaft (9).

Collect escaping oil/grease mixture in a suitable container.

Install

Clean sealing surface on flange of rear axle shaft (9) and wheel hub (3)

Apply sealant

To the cleaned sealing surfaces on the flange of rear axle shaft (9) and wheel hub (3).

Adhesive

Install rear axle shaft (9).

Screw in bolts (8)

Use new bolts (8).

Attach hubcaps

Check oil level in rear axle

Adjust to correct level if necessary
