Step 6

1	Conduct a road test	 Only when the oil in the rear axle is not at operating temperature. The rear axle oil must be at operating temperature for the oil change.
2	Clean area around oil filler plug (1) and oil drain screw (2)
3	Remove oil filler screw (1)
4	Remove oil drain screw (2)	 Collect oil with a suitable container and allow to run out completely.
5	Install and tighten oil drain screw (2)	 Clean the oil drain screw (2) and replace the seal ring.

6	Pour in oil up to bottom edge of oil filler opening	 On rear axle 746.2 with sealed differential, observe the changed oil quality otherwise the differential assembly could be damaged.

7	Screw in oil filler screw (1).	 Clean the oil filler screw (1) and replace the seal ring.
