Mount dial indicator holder on wheel hub so that the measuring tip of the dial indicator is positioned at the front of the axle tube.

Check wheel bearing play by firmly pushing and pulling on wheel hub.


The wheel bearing play can be brought to the specified adjustment value by loosening or tightening the inner slotted nut. Only check the wheel bearing play when the outer slotted nut (1) is tightened to the specified torque. Use claw wrench 906 589 00 07 00 or claw wrench 309 589 01 07 00 to loosen and tighten the slotted nuts.

Tighten outer slotted nut (1) to specified torque   .


After correct adjustment of wheel bearing play


Tighten the outer slotted nut (1) using claw wrench 906 589 00 07 00 or claw wrench 309 589 01 07 00.

Secure outer slotted nut (1) by bending over locking plate (2).


After correct adjustment of wheel bearing play
