Service Information: Complaints about front, rear-end and sliding doors

Due to recent events, we ask you to open a TIPS case for every complaint concerning the front and sliding doors, and to send it to the Body Team until further notice.

What exactly is the problem?

Visual appearance/flushness:

 Transitions (A, B, C-pillar at top/bottom/center)

 Joints/gap dimensions (A, B, C-pillar at top/bottom/center)

Function:

 Sliding door closes poorly: e. g. behavior of the sliding door as it runs into the wedges at the front and/or into the lock striker at the rear, as well as into the auxiliary lock at the top

 Sliding door opens poorly: e. g. jumps or jams when opening

 Problems when closing/opening the sliding door associated with the carriage (scraping, jamming, etc.)

 Closing speed of front/sliding door increased

Noises:

 Noises/rattling when operated or while driving

 Where: at the B-pillar or C-pillar, etc.

Leak tightness:

 Water inlet

 Dust

Please also always state which measure/remedy was/is being carried out by you to remedy the problem. Which components were adjusted or replaced in which direction and sequence?
