Service Information: Optimized installation position of fuel filter

Due to recent events, we would like to inform you that on vehicles that are equipped ex factory with code KL5 (Fuel filter (1) with water separator), a technical modification/adaptation has been phased in to optimize the drainage installation position.

If the customer has a problem (fuel filter (1) difficult to drain / or cannot be drained as per the operator's manual) then the installation position of the currently installed fuel filter (1) with water separator (A 651 090 28 52) can be optimized by using the parts listed below. The installation must be performed in accordance with the test and repair instructions "AR47.20-D-5510TSR".

This only applies however, to engines up to major assembly number: 651.###-35-169137. Engines as of major assembly number: 651.###-35-169138 are already equipped with the optimized parts.
