If leakages are present on the left side in the area of the oil pan upper part or lower part, then check whether the fluid is running out of the drain bores (1) of the V-chamber at the front in the area of the refrigerant compressor or at the rear in the area in front of the transmission bell housing.
Notes on working on the oil pan bottom section
In order to be able to make an accurate diagnosis with regards to leakage at the oil pan bottom section, it is absolutely essential to clean the separation point and to dress with lime using crack detector.
Always remove the oil pan bottom section with the press-off nuts or bolts provided for this.
Do not remove oil pan bottom section using a sharp-edged tool. There is the risk of damaging the sealing surface of the oil pan top section.
As the oil pan bottom section (sheet metal part) deforms during removal and leaktightness is no longer guaranteed during reinstallation and it must always be replaced.
