Vehicles up to 31.08.96:
The heater booster operates at its maximum capacity only when heat is required. It does not alternate between full load and partial load operation like the stationary heater.
The heater booster is shut off when
The outdoor air temperature eliminates the need for operation of the heater booster,
The coolant temperature in the area of the coolant temperature switch no longer requires operation of the heater booster
or
The vehicle engine is shut off.
Vehicles as of 01.09.96:
When heat is required the heater booster operates alternately between full load and partial load depending on the coolant temperature.
The heater booster is shut off when
The outdoor air temperature eliminates the need for operation of the heater booster,
The coolant temperature no longer requires operation of the heater booster
