Refrigerant compressor

N83.40-2090-12

The refrigerant compressor driven by the engine compresses the gaseous refrigerant aspirated by the low pressure (gaseous), which is then heated up. The gaseous refrigerant is then forwarded by high pressure (gaseous) into the condenser. Once there, the refrigerant's compression heat is dissipated over the condenser surface, whereupon it then cools down. The air conditioning additional fan (M45) provides additional cooling. The climate control control and operating unit (A81) reads in the signal of the refrigerant pressure sensor (B56). Depending on the refrigerant pressure, the climate control control and operating unit actuates the additional fan AC relay (K77), whereupon the air conditioning additional fan is switched on or off. As it is cooling down, the refrigerant liquefies (condenses). The liquid refrigerant is then routed through high pressure (liquid) to the desiccant cartridge. The liquid refrigerant in the desiccant cartridge has any contamination and water content in it removed. After being cleaned in the desiccant cartridge, the liquid refrigerant is forwarded through high pressure (liquid) to the expansion valve. The expansion valve regulates the flow of refrigerant to the evaporator depending on the low pressure (gaseous) and the temperature at the evaporator outlet. The refrigerant, which is part liquid, part gaseous, is then forwarded through low pressure (liquid) from the expansion valve to the front evaporator.

The refrigerant is evaporated in the evaporator. This evaporation process extracts heat and humidity from the fresh air or recirculated air that is blowing by the evaporator pipe and honeycomb system from the outside, thereby causing the air to cool down and dry out. The air humidity carried along is converted to condensed water, which is routed to the outside. The refrigerant compressor draws in the refrigerant, which has become gaseous again due to heat absorption, through low pressure (gaseous) before compressing it again.
